The Kotak Kanya Scholarship 2025–26 is a flagship merit-cum-means scholarship supported by the
Kotak Education Foundation in partnership with Buddy4Study. This initiative is designed to support
bright and deserving girl students across India who wish to pursue professional graduation courses but face
financial constraints.
What Is the Kotak Kanya Scholarship?
The Kotak Kanya Scholarship is a long-term educational support programme that aims to empower meritorious girls
from economically weaker backgrounds. The scholarship provides financial assistance throughout the undergraduate
professional course, helping students focus entirely on academics without worrying about tuition fees or other
education-related expenses. The scholarship is renewed annually until the completion of the degree, subject to
satisfactory academic performance.
Key Benefits of the Scholarship
- Scholarship Amount: Selected students can receive up to ₹1,50,000 per year.
- The amount can be used to cover tuition fees, hostel charges, books and stationery, internet expenses, laptops, travel costs, and other academic needs.
- The scholarship continues till the completion of the professional degree, provided the student meets renewal and academic criteria.
Eligibility Criteria (Who Can Apply?)
Applicants must fulfil all the following eligibility conditions to apply for the Kotak Kanya Scholarship 2025–26:
- The applicant must be a female student and a resident of India.
- She must have scored a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent CGPA in her Class 12 board examinations.
- The annual family income should not exceed ₹6,00,000.
- The student must be admitted to the first year of the academic session 2025–26 in a professional graduation course such as Engineering, MBBS, Integrated LLB (5-year), Integrated BS-MS/BS-Research, Architecture, Design, or similar programmes at recognised institutions.
- Children of employees of Kotak Mahindra Group, Kotak Education Foundation, or Buddy4Study are not eligible to apply.
Documents Required
Applicants should keep scanned copies (PDF/JPG format) of the following documents ready before starting the application:
- Class 12 mark sheet (self-attested).
- Bonafide certificate or official admission letter.
- College fee structure for the academic year 2025–26.
- Income certificate or income proof of parents/guardians.
- Income Tax Return (ITR) of parents for FY 2024–25, if available.
- College seat allocation or admission confirmation document.
- Entrance examination scorecard, if applicable.
- Aadhaar card.
- Bank passbook in the student’s name.
- Recent passport-size photograph.
- Disability certificate, if applicable.
- Death certificate of parent, in case of single parent or orphan applicants.
Selection Process
Selection for the Kotak Kanya Scholarship is carried out through a transparent merit-cum-means process:
- Initial shortlisting is based on academic performance and family income details.
- Shortlisted candidates may be contacted for further verification, including telephonic or virtual interviews.
- Final selection is made by the Kotak Education Foundation after detailed evaluation.
