PM Yashasvi Scholarship 2026

The PM YASASVI (Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India) is a flagship scheme by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. It is specifically designed for brilliant students from OBC, EBC, and DNT categories who cannot afford quality education.

Unlike small scholarships, PM Yashasvi covers almost your entire school fee and hostel expenses. The amount is directly credited via DBT.

For Class 9 Students

You will receive a grant of ₹75,000 per year to cover school fees and hostel charges.

For Class 11 Students

You will receive a grant of ₹1,25,000 per year for your higher secondary education.

To fill the form, you must meet the following conditions strictly:

  • Category: Student must belong to OBC (Other Backward Class), EBC (Economically Backward Class), or DNT (De-Notified Tribes).
  • Income Limit: Parents’ annual income must not exceed ₹2.5 Lakhs.
  • Schooling: The student must be studying in an identified “Top Class School” (Check the list on the NTA website).
  • Age Limit:
    • Class 9: Born between 01-04-2009 and 31-03-2013 (Approx).
    • Class 11: Born between 01-04-2007 and 31-03-2011 (Approx).

Keep these documents scanned and ready before the portal opens:

  1. Student’s Aadhaar Card.
  2. Valid Income Certificate (issued by competent authority).
  3. Caste Certificate (OBC/EBC/DNT).
  4. Previous Class Marksheet (Class 8 or Class 10).
  5. Passport Size Photograph & Signature.

If the government conducts the Yashasvi Entrance Test (YET) this year, here is the paper style:

  • Mode: Pen & Paper (OMR Based).
  • Time: 2.5 Hours (150 Minutes).
  • No Negative Marking.
  • Subjects: Maths (30), Science (20), Social Science (25), GK (25).

Q1: Is this scholarship for General Category?
Ans: No, this is strictly for OBC, EBC, and DNT students. General category students can apply for the National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (NMMS).

Q2: Is there any application fee?
Ans: No! The application for PM YASASVI is 100% Free. You do not need to pay any exam fee.

Q3: Can I apply if I study in a Private School?
Ans: Yes, provided your school is listed in the “Identified Schools” list by the Ministry and you meet the income criteria.
